Aqua Clear Engineering, Inc. Systems optimize energy and water efficiencies while minimizing the enviromental impact of cooling towers.

Cooling towers are an integral part of temperature control systems in modern institutions, plants, offices, shopping centers, apartment structures and many other large facilities. The increased efficiency of a cooling unit that combines water and air evaporation makes such equipment the most efficient system for large facilities and the clear method of choice for commercial cooling.

However, if these systems are not effectively monitored and maintained to keep heat exchange surfaces clear and clean, that efficiency can degrade quickly resulting in much higher energy usage, costly repairs, damage to our environment and potential health risks.

Cooling towers represent a significant if not major portion of the building's overall cost of operations, and up to 50% of the total water used.

Historically, enterprise facility managers have maintained these systems by employing industrial water treatment chemicals to prevent and dissolve calcium scale buildup, kill and prevent mold, bacteria and other biological growth buildup which can clog the system, prevent effective heat exchange and support the formation of dangerous pathogens that can quickly become a potential health risk. All of these elements must be continuously flushed out of the system which in turn releases these harmful chemicals into the municipal sewage systems and the environment.

AQUA CLEAR ZERO-LIQUID-DISCHARGE

Zero-Liquid-Discharge (ZLD) Technology is capable of removing hardness to less than 0.5 ppm and provides corrosion protection at high TDS (10,000 – 150,00 ppm TDS). A high TDS prohibits growth of pathogens and biological agents. These benefits help protect cooling towers and piping from scale deposits and corrosion. Chemical usage is also reduced, resulting in significant cost savings when compared to older, traditional competing technologies.
